KATE MIDDLETON, DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE WOWS IN ALICE TEMPERLEY LITTLE BLACK DRESS AT SPORTSAID GALA. SEE THE PICS!

Thursday evening, Kate Middleton left husband Prince William at home in charge of their son Prince George  as she stepped out for the SportsAid annual gala dinner in London.

The Duchess of Cambridge was a guest of honour at the glitzy event held at London's Embankment Gardens.

Kate looked gorgeous as she arrived for her big night, in a knee length dress from Alice Temperley which featured a pretty lace overlay and black bodice. The Duchess finished off her look with a tiny red clutch bag and a pair of classic pumps, beaming as she exited her car and headed inside. With her famous glossy locks left loose, the Duchess showed off her super trim figure in the dress, from one of her favourite Brit designers.

Just four months after giving birth to little George, Kate has definitely got her figure back! Thursday's event marked one of the first official solo engagements for Kate since the birth of George.

She became patron of SportsAid back in April with the charity assisting up and coming British sports stars to reach their goals, through financial support and help at the beginning of their careers.Later, Kate will present one of the night's big awards, the One-to-Watch honour, which recognises a young British sportsman or woman who has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to their career.

Previous winners have included Olympic medalist Tom Daley.
